Dartmoor Discovery Tour - April 2018
Join Adam for a Discovery Tour of the wild moorland of Dartmoor National Park. Southern England's largest remaining wilderness, the high moorland of Dartmoor is a wild and exposed place, which make it a breathtaking area for landscape photography. A landscape rich in myth and legend, the moor has an atmosphere quite unlike any other national park.
Living on the northern edge of Dartmoor, Adam has an in-depth knowledge of the moor. Throughout this 3 day tour we will prioritise photographing Dartmoor's moorland areas rich in granite tors, windswept trees and bronze age remains of early human habitation.
Our tour begins at 10:00 on the first day, where, after an initial short briefing we will head out to a variety of locations for the rest of the day. Each day thereafter we will aim to be shooting from sunrise through to sunset, returning to the hotel after sunrise for breakfast and a few hours downtime before heading out for the rest of the day. Due to the late sunset at this time of year, each evening we will find a pub en-route to have dinner before heading to our evening location.
With a maximum group number of only four participants, our chosen locations will be uncrowded ensuring everybody has access to shoot that special viewpoint. Adam will encourage you to fully explore each location to find your own viewpoints and compositions, while helping you capture beautiful landscape photographs.
Our tours are aimed at everybody, from beginners looking for advice and encouragement through to experienced photographers wishing only to be guided to locations. With such a small group, you can be assured of Adam’s attention, support and feedback throughout each location we visit.
During this workshop we will be staying at The Globe Inn in the centre of Chagford, a picturesque village in Dartmoor. Formerly a coaching inn, The Globe has a renowned reputation for hospitality and home cooked food, and is a popular country pub for locals and visitors alike.
Each guest will enjoy single occupancy of a contemporarily themed and individually decorated en-suite double bedroom, combining comfort with great style. For more information please visit the Globe's website.
