1 Day - Dartmoor National Park

  • 12th September, 2024

Join Adam for a one day Discovery Tour of the wild and remote Dartmoor National Park. Southern England's largest remaining wilderness, Dartmoor is a wild and exposed place, which make it a breathtaking area for landscape photography.  A landscape rich in myth and legend, the moor has an atmosphere quite unlike any other national park.

Living on the northern edge of Dartmoor, Adam has an in-depth knowledge of the moor.  During this one day workshop Adam will lead you to several epic locations within the National Park and provide guidance and support to help you capture some beautiful landscape photographs.  Throughout the day we will not follow a preset itinerary, but rather choose our locations based on the weather at the time.  This could mean the day could be focused on shooting moorland tors, woodland, fast flowing rivers, or even a combination of all these subjects.

We will meet at 10:00 at a moorland car park, where you can leave your car for the day.  For the rest of the day, you will travel in Adam's vehicle, stopping off and shooting a variety of locations, finishing with a sunset shoot.  We will aim to finish at around 20:00.

With a maximum group number of only four participants, our chosen locations will be uncrowded ensuring everybody has access to shoot that special viewpoint.  Adam will encourage you to fully explore each location to find your own viewpoints and compositions, while helping you capture beautiful landscape photographs.

Our tours are aimed at everybody, from beginners looking for advice and encouragement through to experienced photographers wishing only to be guided to locations.  With such a small group, you can be assured of Adam’s attention, support and feedback throughout each location we visit.

Please note: This tour requires a moderate level of fitness.  Some locations require walks of up to 30 minutes over uneven moorland paths, of which some will be uphill.

"I just want to say how much I enjoyed our session on Friday last. Not only did you impart a great deal of instruction and information you did it in a very relaxed and informal way. All in all I gained a lot, not only from your patient instruction but from our easy and relaxed conversation."

Dennis, 1-2-1 Tuition Day

"I’m back in the deep north again and just wanted to say thanks so much for a very memorable day on Wednesday. As I said to you at the end of the day, I found your teaching style very relaxed and encouraging and I learned many points to take away, mull over, and put into practice. Exactly what I needed!"

Jeremy, 1-2-1 Tuition Day

"Thanks very much for your guidance, care and attention over the few days last week and for your eternal optimism about the weather !!"
