North Devon Coast Discovery Tour - April 2019

Fully Booked

Join Adam for a Discovery Tour of the stunning North Devon coast.  Full of rugged beauty this coastline is relatively unexplored by photographers and is often passed completely in favour of Cornwall.

The North Devon coast boasts all of the drama of Cornwall, but the locations feel refreshingly different and new.  With 4 days to fully explore the area we will photograph North Devon's magnificent coastline from one end of the county to the other, from Hartland Quay in the west to Valley of Rocks in Exmoor to the east.

Our tour begins at 12:00 on the first day where, after an initial short briefing we will head out to a variety of locations for the rest of the day.  Each day thereafter we will aim to be shooting from sunrise through to sunset, returning to the hotel after sunrise for breakfast and a few hours downtime before heading out for the rest of the day.  Due to the late sunset at this time of year, each evening we will find a pub en-route to have dinner before heading to our sunset location.

With a maximum group number of only four participants, our chosen locations will be uncrowded ensuring everybody has access to shoot that special viewpoint.  Adam will encourage you to fully explore each location to find your own viewpoints and compositions, while helping you capture beautiful landscape photographs.

Our tours are aimed at everybody, from beginners looking for advice and encouragement through to experienced photographers wishing only to be guided to locations.  With such a small group, you can be assured of Adam’s attention, support and feedback throughout each location we visit.

Please note: This tour requires a moderate level of fitness.  In order to reach (and return from) some locations, up to 30 minutes walking is required, of which some will be uphill.

Accommodation

Throughout this workshop we will be staying at the Barnstaple Hotel on the outskirts of Barnstaple in North Devon.  Located close to the north Devon coast, the 3 star Barnstaple Hotel makes a perfect base for this workshop, and gives us a good mid way point from which to explore the coastline to the west and north.  Each guest will enjoy single occupancy in a double en suite bedroom with all the comforts expected of a modern hotel.  For more information on the hotel please visit their website.

What to Bring

To enable you to get the most out of the workshop please bring the following camera gear:

  • DSLR, lenses and memory card
  • Spare batteries (charged up!)
