For many years Dartmoor has been a favourite location for artists. The rugged moorland is bleak yet beautiful and represents some of the wildest landscape to be found anywhere in Britain.



Hundreds of granite tors are scattered over the moorland wilderness, each inspiring tales of mystery and enchantment. Fascinating photographic subjects in their own right, the tors hilltop vantage points offer far reaching background views, perfect for capturing breathtaking landscape images.



In addition to the spectacular tors, the vast moorland offers a wealth of ancient remnants dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages. On almost every part of the moorland you will easily encounter evidence of prehistoric habitation, from hut circles, to stone rows and cairns. You will have opportunity to photograph some of the largest and most interesting sites, all set amongst the most atmospheric wild scenery.



Away from the moorland, Dartmoor offers many rocky rivers and streams, more reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands than Southern England. From rushing boulder infested river valleys, to more intimate lush woodland streams you will be best placed to capture the most stunning of Dartmoor’s waterways.



Whatever the season a trip to Wild Dartmoor can find yourself away from the crowds and alone to capture some of the most breathtaking scenery anywhere in Britain.
 

Key Features

Throughout the course of the workshop you will receive instruction on, and plenty of time to develop the following techniques:

- Switching to manual settings
- Using filters (Neutral Density Grads, straight ND’s and Polarisers)
- Understanding exposure
- Mastering composition
- Understanding natural light
- Finding shots with impact
