Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe, Scotland
Ref: BB048948
Gallery: Scotland
The view across Loch Awe to Kilchurn Castle is one of the iconic vistas of the Scottish Highlands; on a misty Autumnal morning it makes a simply irresistible photographic subject. The Castle dates back to the 15th Century and was the ancestral home of the Campbells of Glenorchy but was permanently abandoned in 1760 after suffering severe damage from lightning.
