After spending the afternoon walking the clifftops at Start Point, my wife and I decided to make a last minute dash for sunset at Hope Cove.  We had never been to Hope Cove before and so were quite unprepared, and also had barely enough time to reach the village before the sun set.  Yet luck was on our side that day, and as we pulled into the car park the sky was beginning its beautiful show of evening colour.

I eagerly pulled on my wellies and raced down to the beach where waves were crashing onto the deep golden sand, enhanced by the beautiful light.  I spotted some rocks poking out from the clean sand and decided to make these my foreground.  But in order to achieve my favoured wide angle composition I needed to stand close to the rocks, and that meant getting wet.  Very wet indeed; as the waves crashed onto the beach and raced past me I became soaked up to my thighs.  So much for the wellies!  But being wet was a small price to pay for being in position to capture the magical trails of water as the waves retreated back to the sea.
