At Twistleton Scar there are several gnarled trees growing through cracks in the limestone pavement, and each of them make wonderful photographic subjects. Their withered appearance seems to fit perfectly with the barren wilderness of their surroundings. Even with the early morning sun providing warm side-lighting in this picture, the location still looks cold, lonely and isolated.
