Snowdon revealed
Llyn Llydaw, Snowdonia, Wales
Ref: BB052138
Gallery: Wales
I captured this image a couple of weeks back on a great morning in the company of fellow landscape photographer and friend Andy Kime. After an eventful trip up to Pen y Pas where I scratched and dented the side of my car, and Andy’s car had an altercation with a daredevil sheep, it looked as though it was going to be one of those days. The Miner’s Track disappeared into thick mist, and any hope of capturing a clear view of Snowdon seemed hopeless. But we walked up to Llyn Llydaw anyhow, hoping for some Snowdonia magic. And it soon came; as we stood at the shores of the lake the mist swirled and suddenly parted to reveal the mountains, including Snowdon illuminated with golden morning light, all reflected in a perfectly still Llyn Llydaw. I’m not sure any photograph could do justice to the magical feeling of just being in this spectacular location on this morning; it was the perfect tonic to forget about my car problems, or at least until I got back to the car park later on!
