This was a shot that almost never happened.  I timed my visit to Bedruthan Steps to coincide low tide with sunset.  I had been waiting halfway down the steep steps for the tide to retreat, watching as fierce waves crashed directly below me.  I decided to capture an image or two from my elevated vantage point but this turned out to be a very bad move.  As I extended the first leg of my tripod, I was completely astounded to see the leg pop completely out, clatter down the steps and plop into the sea!  Luckily for me the submerged leg was lodged firmly between two rocks, and I was able to retrieve it after a few worrying minutes. 

Soon after I made my way over the beach and arrived at this incredible cove just as the sun disappeared below the horizon.  As a pink glow appeared in the sky I chose a composition which included a series of similar rockpools leading towards a towering background sea stack.
