Folds of time
Stair Hole, Lulworth, Dorset
Ref: AB015148
Gallery: Dorset
Early morning at the incredible Stair Hole next to Lulworth Cove in Dorset. The geology in this place is truly awe inpsiring. The black cave in the rocks on the right is one of several sea arches where the action of the sea has bored holes into the hard rock. As the power of the sea continually erodes these rocks and the crumbling cliff behind eventually this place will become another bay like Lulworth Cove, and even further along the line it will merge together with Lulworth to form one huge bay.
