I decided to go for a minimalist feel for this image, my decision influenced by the thick layer of mist hanging above Derwent Water on this beautiful autumn morning. As the mist blew silently over the lake the outline of Causey Pike and it’s surrounding mountains were partially revealed in the dawn sky. It would have been ideal if a single boat had floated into my composition, but unfortunately I was up long before any boat owners on this particular morning.
