Sometimes photography trips can be disappointing. A friend and I had returned from what could be described as a disappointing Scottish highland trip - it rained virtually the whole week and we missed many opportunities. However, every so often something special happens and this trip included several of these moments. Our first evening on the Isle of Skye provided some of the most special lighting I have been fortunate to photograph. This one shot for me made the whole week long trip worthwhile.
I’m not ashamed to say that I love this shot. For me all the elements seem to work so well together; the brooding sky, the glow on the horizon, the layered mountains, the glowing foreground rocks, the crashing waves. It was only the briefest of moments in which the light glowed yet something that I will remember forever.
