Children of Nature
Children of Nature
Patricia Lake, Jasper National Park, Canada
Ref: AB009828
Gallery: Canada
The title of this image was inspired from a quote I heard on a Ray Mears TV programme. The quote was originally penned by Canada’s 15th Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau. In 1944 Trudeau wrote: “What sets a canoeing expedition apart is that it purifies you more rapidly and inescapably than any other. Travel a thousand miles by train and you are a brute; pedal five hundred on a bicycle and you remain basically a bourgeois; paddle a hundred in a canoe and you are already a child of nature”.
