This proved to be one of those times that all photographers can relate to.  I arrived at the beach early afternoon, wandering around looking for locations to photograph once the sun dipped below the horizon.  It was during school holidays and lots of people were enjoying the beach and sunshine.  When I found this little stream passing beneath a small natural stone arch I simply knew it was the ideal location to shoot.  So I set up my camera and waited for the light.  While waiting I noticed a family sitting on the rocks to my left, the father, camera swinging from his neck seemed intent on watching me.  After 30 minutes or so, as the sun started dipping low on the horizon lighting up the clouds I suddenly sprang into hyperactivity, photographing, refining my viewpoint, more photographs, more moving.  Then all of a sudden, the father appeared alongside me… ‘Nice camera you’ve got there…I’ve got this new lens for my camera…can you show me how to use it’.  Why, oh why he did not approach while I was sitting waiting patiently I will never know, instead preferring to make his move when I was completely consumed with capturing the spectacular evening lightshow.  To my credit, I did try to help, and remained polite while secretly wanting to push him off the rocks so I could continue capturing the beautiful evening!
