Situated in a prominent position in the Solent, Bembridge is a key RNLI station, which has saved more than 900 lives since its opening in 1867. The lifeboat station pictured here was opened in 1922 and demolished in 2009, to make way for a new 10 million pounds state of the art station due to be opened in 2010.
