A Misty Start
A Misty Start
Derwent Water, Lake District
Ref: BB043307
Gallery: Lake District
I wanted to create something different to the often photographed wooden jetty images of Derwent Water. Seeing these gulls on the posts, I composed my image so that the posts didn’t cross over each other. By taking the time to simplify a composition in this way you will increase your chances of capturing a harmonious image. I knew that the mist would do the rest of the job for me, simplifying the background to help focus the attention on the posts and birds.
