A frosty reception
New Forest, Hampshire
Ref: AB010192
Gallery: New Forest
This morning was to be the only time I have ever encountered hoar frost in the New Forest National Park. I headed into the Forest expecting a heathland coasted in regular frost, and was completely stunned by the winter wonderland that greeted me. The Silver Birch trees were the most incredible of all; their delicate branches completely white with a thick coating of ice.
